About the Webinar

It was on 26th February, "Chisel the Biologist" conducted its first webinar with the distinguished scientist Dr. Simran Kaur https://lnkd.in/g2v28grB
, Lead scientist "Applied Stem Cell", as the expert speaker on the topic of "Molecular Cloning and the essential web and software utilities".
"Chisel the Biologist" was started as a LinkedIn company with two main goals: primarily, we are striving to create opportunities for students, researchers, and enthusiasts of Biology to virtually access knowledge and training from experts in different fields of Biological and inter-disciplinary sciences. Secondly, we fundraise through the registration process for the online webinar/ workshop session and a share of the money, raised, is provided to support a student/ researcher from a financially underprivileged background.
Herewith, we would like to say that a fine share of the money, raised from the previous webinar was given as monitory support for a scholar from a state university in Tamil Nadu. The respective person is a final year scholar, an ambitious researcher who is currently about to enroll in a job as RA at the ICMR laboratory. For privacy reason, we would like to hide the personal details of the beneficiary. As of now, the beneficiaries, defined in our terms as students who are self-financing and are from economically and infrastructurally weaker social and academic backgrounds, are chosen from the personal networks of the administrators of the company, and in the future - based on fund's availability, the support could be better stretched out so that we make sure ambitious researchers do not fall back in research for want of finance.

Contribution

Cause

Our newly founded LinkedIn company "Chisel the Biologist" (along with Dr. Simran Kaur https://lnkd.in/g8i5iUkE), has had its first webinar held on 26th February, 2022, and it's a glad moment for us that we could provide a one-time financial support to a scholar who has been self-financing her research amidst the years of struggle. The scholar who we do not want to share identity of, herewith, is currently on the process of completing her doctoral studies. We could support the scholar from a fine share of the money that was raised in the process of event-registration, and we are grateful to all the participants and also to Dr. Simran Kaur, for her humble donation and support.
